Sylva is an incorporated town located in central Jackson County, in the Plott Balsam Mountains of Western North Carolina, United States. As of the 2010 census , the town had a total population of 2,588. [ 5 ]
The chain was founded in 1981 by Warren Simmons, [3] with his first restaurant in Alameda, California. [4] It grew to 37 restaurants across California by August 1993, when it was acquired by PepsiCo subsidiary Taco Bell. When PepsiCo exited the restaurant business in 1997, Chevys was sold to the investment group J.W. Childs Associates. [5]
