The McComb School District placed all of its campuses under lockdown twice Monday morning after receiving at least two threats. A message from schools sent to parents and circulated on social media said school officials received a threat of a shooting to be carried out at one of the campuses, although no campus was specified.
A manhunt that included drones continued late Thursday afternoon in Summit. With all five suspects still at large after a shooting in McComb, one official recommended at 5:45 p.m. that Summit residents lock their doors as a precaution.

One person is dead following a head-on collision that involved a shoplifting suspect who had fled police in McComb on Wednesday afternoon. Steven Butler, 27, of Kentwood, La., is in custody and faces numerous charges after sustaining injuries in the wreck on Highway 24 in Amite County.
A McComb man was sentenced to 20 years in prison Wednesday for breaking into a woman’s home and trying to assault her while her children were present. Tommy Redmond, 47, was convicted of burglary following a two-day trial in Pike County Circuit Court.
