The 2025 Women's European Basketball Championship, commonly called EuroBasket Women 2025, is the 40th edition of the continental tournament in women's basketball, sanctioned by the FIBA Europe. It will be held in the Czech Republic, Germany, Italy and Greece from 18 to 29 June 2025.
EuroBasket Women is a biennial international women's basketball competition held between the nations of FIBA Europe for women's national teams. EuroBasket Women is also used as a qualifying tournament for the FIBA Women's World Cup and also the Olympic Games .
This championship was first introduced in 1989, as the Promotion Cup, the competition organized for the lowest ranked European national basketball teams. Since then, the competition has been held biannually. In 2007, the Promotion Cup was officially renamed EuroBasket Division C.
However, after their unexpected triumph at the 2009 EuroBasket the team earned the name Les Braqueuses (The Robbers) due their spectacular play. [2] France is the leading nation in terms of EuroBasket Women qualifications. (Alongside Italy)
