Chester and Benson. The Tates and Campbells with Benson. Soap is an American sitcom television series that originally ran on ABC from 1977 through 1981. A parody of soap operas, the show's story was presented in a serial format and featured melodramatic plotlines revolving around a large family in the fictional town of Dunn's River, Connecticut.
A villain is an "evil" character in a story, whether a historical narrative or, especially, a work of fiction. In soap operas, the villain, sometimes called a "bad guy", is an antagonist, tending to have a negative effect on other characters. A female villain is sometimes called a villainess or "bad girl".
Campbell's film career began in 1950, with a small part in the John Garfield film The Breaking Point. After several years of similar supporting performances in a number of films, including as a co-pilot in William Wellman's The High and the Mighty (1954), he won his first starring role in Cell 2455 Death Row (1955), a low-budget prison film for Columbia Pictures.
Campbell made her television debut playing Ryan's granddaughter Maura "Katie" Thompson in the ABC daytime soap opera Ryan's Hope from 1984 to 1985. [3] In 1986 she played Courtney Capwell in the NBC soap opera, Santa Barbara. In 1987 she went to star in the Fox sitcom Women in Prison. [2] The series was canceled after 13 episodes.
Campbell, already well known as a cult film actor in several Sam Raimi horror movies, was cast as Wayne Weinsider. Many of the episode's special effects were created without elaborate computer-generated effects. Critics have complimented the episode's unique representation of its antagonist, who has been classified as a sympathetic villain.
