Naperville (/ ˈ n eɪ p ər ˌ v ɪ l / NAY-pər-vil) is a city in DuPage and Will counties in the U.S. state of Illinois.It is a southwestern suburb of Chicago located 28 miles (45 km) west of the city on the DuPage River.
On April 6, 1891, Ellen A. Martin led a group of women to the voting place at the general store. She demanded that the three male election judges allow the women to vote. The judges were so surprised that one of them had a "spasm," one leaned against the wall for support, and the other fell backwards into a barrel of flour.
As of the census [4] of 2010, there were 757 people, 325 households, and 216 families living in the town. The population density was 21.2 inhabitants per square mile (8.2/km 2).
When Harold White and Gordon Haist bought The Naperville Sun for $600 in 1936, the year-old publication was little more than a typewriter, a desk and a name. [1] At the end of The Sun's first year the paper was still being distributed for free to some 2,000 families, and printed in Downers Grove, Illinois, for a fee that exceeded the revenue coming in, while its size had dwindled to four pages.
Auburn Road Vineyards is a winery in Pilesgrove Township in Salem County, New Jersey. [ 2 ] [ 3 ] The vineyard was first planted in 2004, and opened to the public in 2007. [ 4 ] [ 5 ] Auburn Road has 19 acres of grapes under cultivation, and produces 4,200 cases of wine per year. [ 6 ]
