The Manora Point Lighthouse is an active lighthouse located in Manora, Karachi, on the Arabian Sea in Pakistan, where it is fourth tallest lighthouse in the country at a height of 38 m (125 ft). The lighthouse was first established on the point in 1851, being second oldest light station in the former British Indian Empire .
Manora (Sindhi: منهوڙو, Urdu: منوڑہ) is a peninsula that forms a protective barrier between Karachi Harbour to the north and the Arabian Sea to the south. Manora, having a total population of 4,273 local residents (as per 2017 census), [1] was formerly an island, but due to silting is now connected to the mainland by a 12 kilometre long natural sand bridge known as Sandspit.

On 1 February 1839 a British ship, HMS Wellesley, anchored off the island of Manora.On 3 February, the ship opened fire on the fort. [2] When British troops stormed the fort, they reportedly found it guarded by 4 or 5 men, who had no guns to fire back with, and so the fort was quickly surrendered by Wussul Ben Butcha, [3] [8] and Karachi with most of the area that now forms Pakistan captured.
