W. K. Kellogg Airport [1] [2] (IATA: BTL, ICAO: KBTL, FAA LID: BTL) is a city-owned, public-use, joint civil-military airport located three nautical miles (6 km) west of the central business district of Battle Creek, a city in Calhoun County, Michigan, United States. [1] The airport is accessible by road from Helmer Road, and is located near I-94.
In the early 1990s, the flight school began to outgrow the facilities, and, in 1997, the college moved to Battle Creek's W. K. Kellogg Airport, where all operations are presently housed. [16] The WMU aviation unit at Kalamazoo has been used from time to time by the college, but not since May 2006.
In recognition of the facility's new purpose, the building was renamed the Battle Creek Federal Center. [ 10 ] Five years later, in 1959, the GSA began using facility space for other federal organizations, and by 1962, twenty-eight different agencies were housed there.
