Hough's athletic teams are known as the "Huskies". The school is a part of the North Carolina High School Athletic Association (NCHSAA) and competes in the I-Meck 4A athletic conference. Alleghany is a part of the North Carolina High School Athletic Association and is currently classified as a 1A school. It is a member of the Northwest 1A Conference. The Alleghany High team name is the Trojans, with the school colors being green and vegas gold. [3]
