Liberty University President Jerry Falwell Jr. announced on August 28, 2009, a three-phase addition to Williams Stadium. The 2008 Liberty Flames football team represented Liberty University a member of the Big South Conference during the 2008 NCAA Division I FCS football season. Led by third-year head coach Danny Rocco , the Flames compiled an overall record of 10–2 with a mark of 5–0 in conference play, winning the Big South title.
