Hannam-dong (Korean: 한남동) is a wealthy neighborhood (Korean: 부촌) of Yongsan District (Korean: 용산구), Seoul, South Korea.It has been portrayed continuously in South Korea's popular culture as an oasis of wealth and luxury, thus becoming the subject of numerous domestic films, television series, and popular music references.
Hannam-dong is an upmarket area to the east of the district and is the location of some of the most expensive real estate in Seoul, along with galleries and restaurants. Initially four elementary students were taught in a private apartment in Seoul's UN Village apartment complex. In 1976 eleven students enrolled in the school, leading the school to move to the Goethe-Institute premises. In December 1985 the school relocated to the Itaewon and in 1988 to its current location in Hannam-dong.
