Indian Airlines Flight 113 was a flight operating from Mumbai to Ahmedabad that crashed on its final approach to Ahmedabad Airport on 19 October 1988, killing 133 of the 135 people on board. [ 1 ] The crash was the deadliest crash in the history of Indian Airlines and it remains as the fourth-deadliest aircraft accident in the history of India .

A blast occurred at Sahil Enterprise, a chemical factory on Piplaj road in Pirana, Ahmedabad at 11:22 am IST. Kanika Texo Fab, a textile facility next to the factory, had around 30 people working when the blast occurred. The building collapsed and several people died and others injured due to the fallen debris.
