Hidamari Sketch (Japanese: ひだまりスケッチ, Hepburn: Hidamari Suketchi, lit. "Sunny Sketch") is a Japanese yonkoma manga series written and illustrated by Ume Aoki . It follows a group of young female art students, and following their daily lives as close friends and neighbors at the nearby Hidamari Apartments.

Although he had worked on Shaft's titles with director Akiyuki Shinbo (who began a long-standing collaboration with the studio in 2004) prior to Hidamari Sketch, the series was Itou's first time directly working with Shinbo; and having seen Shinbo's prior works, such as Le Portrait de Petit Cossette (2004), Itou was initially nervous. John Landis Mason (c. 1832 in Vineland, New Jersey – February 26, 1902) was an American tinsmith and the patentee of the metal screw-on lid for antique fruit jars commonly known as Mason jars. Many such jars were printed with the line "Mason's Patent Nov 30th 1858". [1] He also invented the first screw top salt shaker in 1858.
