Ouachita Baptist University joined the GLVC as an associate member in men's wrestling in fall 2018. 2019: Shorter University ended its associate membership in men's lacrosse at the end of the 2018–19 academic year.

UW–Parkside is a member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II and the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. Varsity sports for men and women include soccer, basketball, track, golf, and cross country. Men's varsity sports are baseball, and wrestling. Women's varsity sports are softball and volleyball.
