Birmingham Community Charter High School (formerly Birmingham High School) is a charter high school in the neighborhood/district of Lake Balboa in the San Fernando Valley section of Los Angeles, California, United States. It was founded in 1953 as a 7–12 grade combined high school and became solely a senior high school in 1963.
In 2022, the cutoff scores were the following: Stuyvesant High School: 563; Queens High School For The Sciences At York College: 523; The Bronx High School of Science: 524; Staten Island Technical High School: 527; HSMSE @ CCNY: 532; HSAS @ Lehman: 516; Brooklyn Technical High School: 506; and The Brooklyn Latin School: 497. [2] In December 2017, High Tech LA's charter was renewed by the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) board for another five years. [3] It received a second California Distinguished High School designation in 2019. [4]

[3] Previously a community school administered by Birmingham City Council, in September 2019 Balaam Wood School converted to academy status and was renamed King Edward VI Balaam Wood Academy.
