Bridgewater Center is a census-designated place (CDP) [5] located in the west-central part of Bridgewater Township, Somerset County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. It was first listed as a CDP prior to the 2020 census [ 4 ] with a population of 4,616.
The tennis facilities are divided into five groups. Three bands of lawn tennis courts are laid out south of the clubhouse, with a fourth band of hard-surface courts between those and Rumson Road. To the east of these are a fifth group of clay courts. A single court is located just northwest of the clubhouse at the northern edge of the property. [2]
In October 1881 the club staged a new tournament known as the Orange Lawn Tennis Club Open that ran until 1899. [4] Prior to 1920 Orange Lawn Tennis Club had been host to the Middle States Championships which was moved to Philadelphia. That tournament was then replaced by the Annual Invitational Tournament until 1940. [3]
