The University of Allahabad is a Central University located in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. It was established on 23 September 1887 by an act of Parliament and is recognised as an Institute of National Importance (INI). It is the 4th oldest modern University in India. [4]

After receiving his doctorate in history, Rattan Lal Hangloo worked as an assistant professor in the history department at the University of Kashmir from April 1980 until September 1982. After that, from September 1982 to August 1984, he worked as a Visiting Fellow at the Centre for Historical Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University.
