Nawab Mirza Khan Daagh Dehlvi (Urdu: نواب مرزا خان داغ دہلوی, 25 May 1831 – 17 March 1905) was a poet known for his Urdu ghazals. He belonged to the old Delhi school of Urdu poetry. [2] [3] [4] He wrote romantic and sensuous poems and ghazals in simple and chaste Urdu, minimising usage of Persian words.
The poem appeared in his first collection of poetry Naqsh-e-Fariyadi, published in 1943. [2] [3] Faiz belonged to the Progressive Writers’ Movement and "Mujhe Se Pehli Si Mohabbat Mere Mehboob Na Maang" marks his transition from ‘traditional Urdu poetry, to poetry with purpose’. [4]

Asrar-ul-Haq (19 October 1911 to 5 December 1955), better known as Majaz Lakhnawi, was an Indian Urdu poet. He is known for his romantic and revolutionary poetry. He composed ghazals and nazms in Urdu. He was the maternal uncle of poet and screenplay writer Javed Akhtar and Indian-American psychoanalyst Salman Akhtar. [1]
