Open Road is the eighth studio album, and ninth overall, from Scottish singer-songwriter Donovan and the debut album from the short-lived band Open Road. [1] While his previous work was composed by his playing solo on acoustic guitar and then recorded with a shifting cast of session musicians, Open Road was Donovan's effort toward writing and recording music as a member of a band.
He is joined by David Fleming [3] and Steve Mazzaro, [4] who provided additional music. As part of DC FanDome 2020, WaterTower Music released the first track from the score, titled "Themyscira". [5] Another track, "Open Road", was released on December 10 as part of the "Week of Wonder" social media promotion leading up to the film's release. [6]

The San Diego Vista gave the album a positive review, stating that as a "singer and songwriter [Barlow] demonstrates his potential as a successful solo artist on Open Road. The album shows a diversity of musical styles, many acoustic-based tracks, a few haunting ballads and some scintillating up-tempo dance numbers."
Following the release of "So Help Me Girl", Barlow announced that 'Open Road' would be the last single to be released from the album in Europe.However, following its release, 'Open Road' peaked at No. 7 on the UK Singles Chart as well as becoming his third fourth consecutive top-two single in Lithuania and fourth song to chart in Ireland and Germany, respectively.
