The Battle of Palmdale was the attempted shoot-down of a runaway Grumman F6F-5K Hellcat drone by United States Air Force interceptors in the skies over Southern California. The drone was launched at 11:34 PDT from Point Mugu Naval Air Station and soon went out of control.
