Cisco set-top boxes - On or around August 23, 2024. Motorola set-top boxes - On or around April 15, 2025. When you upgrade, we’ll send you newer equipment at no additional costs to you. The new equipment will let you keep receiving the best experience with your Fios TV service.
"In 2024, your Set-Top Box and DVR equipment will be retired. Video on Demand service on this set top box will end on or around 1/31/2024. You must upgrade your equipment in order to keep your TV service." Then it goes on to advertise/push their fios one and what routers are needed, etc.
I've been told that the old VMS 4100 and IPC 4100 are no longer being shipped from the warehouse. The new equipment, confusingly still called the 4100, consists of a VMS4100ATV, which acts as the DVR/Server and does not connect to the TV; and the Verizon Stream (V2) box, which does connect to the TV and acts as the "cable" box.
Current set-top boxes are quite different than the old models. If you have ancient TVs that don't use HDMI, you may need to stay with the old box and old plan. For best results, I recommend you reach Verizon via social media.

I received an e-mail saying they Verizon is sending me a new set top box at no cost and likely a new router as well if I read their e-ail correctly and it appears that there will be no charge. I read in tech forums that I will have to ship back the old equipment of course.
If you order online or over the phone, you can have the new set top box shipped to your home or you can choose store pick-up to avoid shipping charges.
