Mountain was an American rock band formed on Long Island, New York, in 1969. [1] [2] Originally consisting of vocalist-guitarist Leslie West, bassist-vocalist Felix Pappalardi, keyboardist Steve Knight, and drummer N. D. Smart (soon replaced by Corky Laing), the group disbanded in 1972, but reunited on several occasions prior to West's death in 2020. [3]

In 1975, Connell founded and led the Johnson Mountain Boys, playing guitar and singing lead vocals. Other members included Richard Underwood (banjo), David McLaughlin (mandolin), Eddie Stubbs (fiddle) and Gary B Reid (bass). [5] The band ended in 1988 due to road life stresses, but have since played reunion shows and another album Blue Diamond. [6]

On rare occasions, Sugarbush has hosted "Summerstage" concerts in the offseason. The Vermont band Phish performed at the resort on July 16, 1994, and the complete concert was released on the album Live Phish Volume 2 in 2001.
