Bleach (stylized in all caps) is a Japanese anime television series based on Tite Kubo's original manga series Bleach. It was produced by Pierrot and directed by Noriyuki Abe . The series aired on TV Tokyo from October 2004 to March 2012, spanning 366 episodes.
In the English release by Viz Media, the title is changed to The Substitute. [2] The season adapts the first eight volumes (chapters 1–70) of Tite Kubo's Bleach manga series, spanning twenty episodes. The episodes' plot covers the adventures of Ichigo Kurosaki after becoming a Soul Reaper and assuming the duties of Soul Reaper Rukia Kuchiki.
