Club africain in 1934. The derbies between the Club Africain (CA) and Espérance de Tunis (EST) start during the season 1923–1924, when the African Club joins the EST in second series (promotion 1): the first official derby, which takes place on March 23, 1924, at the Ariana on behalf of the fifth day of the championship of the second series, is won by the African Club (3-0).
Espérance Sportive de Tunis (EST, French pronunciation: [ɛspeʁɑ̃s spɔʁtiv də tynis]; Arabic: الترجي الرياضي التونسي, romanized: Attarajī ar-Riyāḍi Attūnisī), known as ES Tunis, and nicknamed “Mkashkha”, The Elder of Tunisian Clubs, The Blood and Gold Club and The Beast of Africa is a Tunisian professional sports club.
The club was founded in 1920 and its colours are red and white. Their home stadium, Stade Hammadi Agrebi, has a capacity of 60,000 spectators. The club currently plays in the Tunisian Ligue Professionnelle 1. Club Africain was the first Tunisian club to win an international trophy, when they won the Maghreb Cup Winners Cup in 1971.

The 2013–14 Tunisian Ligue Professionnelle 1 (Tunisian Professional League) season was the 88th season of top-tier football in Tunisia. The competition began on 15 September 2013 and ended on May 13, 2014.
