James Albert Michener (/ ˈ m ɪ tʃ ə n ər / or / ˈ m ɪ tʃ n ər /; [2] February 3, 1907 – October 16, 1997) was an American writer. He wrote more than 40 books, most of which were long, fictional family sagas covering the lives of many generations, set in particular geographic locales and incorporating detailed history.
The series is now published by John Wiley & Sons, Inc., [2] which acquired Hungry Minds (the new name for IDG Books as of 2000) in early 2001. [3] Various books in the series. The book series is made up of nine novels, nine shorter works and a story collection book. The series was adapted for television by the Syfy Network, also under the title of The Expanse. When Syfy canceled the TV series after three seasons, Amazon acquired it and produced three more seasons; all six seasons are streamed on Amazon Prime Video. [4]
