Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) (Arabic: هيئة الطرق والمواصلات) is a Government of Dubai roads & transportation authority in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. It was founded in 2005 and is responsible for planning and executing transport and traffic projects, along with legislation and strategic plans of transportation in Dubai .
The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) was formed by the decree number 17 for the year 2005.. RTA is responsible for planning and providing the requirements of transport, roads & traffic in the Emirate of Dubai, and between Dubai and other Emirates of the UAE, neighboring countries in order to provide an effective & an integrated transport system.

Emirates Transport was established pursuant to Federal Law No. 17 of 1981 in order to perform public school transportation. It now provides an array of services at 41 locations country-wide, including hired car services, car, motorcycle and van rentals, logistics, auto maintenance, roadside assistance, as well as vehicle fuel conversion services (petrol to CNG).
The station was previously called Jebel Ali, before it was renamed on June 30, 2015, to UAE Exchange following an agreement between Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) and UAE Exchange. The naming agreement was inked as part of RTA's rebranding strategy. [1] The station is located next to another auxiliary depot used by the Dubai Metro.
On 26 September 2013, RTA announced the Smart Nol. On 21 August 2014, RTA increased the minimum balance from AED 1.80 (US$0.49) to AED 7.50 (US$2.04) to avoid journey interruptions. [5] On 21 August 2014, RTA saw 52% increase on Nol Card sales since January 2014. [6] On 21 October 2014, RTA announced new subscription package for the Nol Card. [7]
