Kentucky Route 61 (KY 61) is a 151.333-mile (243.547 km) long Kentucky State Highway extending north from the Tennessee state line in Cumberland County to Columbia in Adair County through to Greensburg in Green County.
Its boundaries are Preston Highway, Interstate 65, Interstate 264 and the Norfolk Southern Railway tracks. Many of Prestonia's streets are named after Kentucky counties. It was probably named for the local highway (then called Preston Street Road), which was in turn named after early Louisville landowner Col. William Preston.

The route intersects with KY 61(Buckman Street/Preston Highway) in Shepherdsville, a route running north into downtown Louisville. KY 44 then becomes East Fourth Street and 0.725 miles (1.167 km) from KY 61 it meets Interstate 65 at Exit 117. Interstate 65 also runs north into downtown Louisville, or south to Bowling Green and Nashville.

Exit for KY 1747 from I-64 in Louisville. An extension towards the General Electric Appliance Park was completed in 2005, connecting the existing Hurstborne Parkway with Fern Valley Road (then-Kentucky Route 1631), creating another loop around the southeastern end of Louisville located midway between Interstate 264 to the north and Interstate 265 to the south.
