Rossi R92 357mag 16" blued lever rifle review. Lever guns seem to be made of gold these days, with Winchester,Henry's and Uberti's going for $1000 up to infinity. Rossi's running $700 up to $1300. But I still had an itch to scratch, and I am not sure Lever rifles will come down much more during the usual summer slump.
Rossi 92 .357 Feed Problems. This is a NIB Rossi 92 20” SS that I have been working on. It will feed .38s (LRN) just fine but chokes on the longer .357 (JSP). It exhibited these problems out of the box but I was sure that a good “fluff and buff” would resolve both problems. I was wrong! There are 2 problems.
I've owned a few Rossi firearms and found them to be fairly reliable. As far as the JMB designed 1892 lever gun goes, it is my favorite pistol carbine. It's finely balanced and fairly easy to disassemble for cleaning compared to many other lever guns. The info for tear down is commonplace. Use quality tools and go easy on the screws.
And, if all else fails you have two remaining alternatives - add an aftermarket sight (tang or receiver) or contact me - I could use a 24" .357 for lever-action silhouette matches! Try it "offhand" before you do anything. And, expect the point of impact to change some once the rifle is broken in - around 300 rounds. Nice rifle! Michael
