I forgot all passwords including admin for my Night Owl DVR - Model DVR-AHD78-81-RS-2. I had placed it in storage for awhile. There is no default admin password for this model is my understanding. Night Owl Support does not support this model any longer. I have tried removing battery and it did not work, and there is no reset button on this model.

Tried user: admin and password: 123456, but that does not work. Tried all different passwords 111111, 000000, 888888 without any success. I took out the board battery for a few minutes and it has reset the time etc, but it is still looking for Admin password. The model code on the board is 2308SE V1.02. I've searched as good as I could a way to hard reset this board, but I couldn't find any, neither could find a pair of pins who looked like they could be bridged to achieve this. According to my uncle, the default user when he accesed directly from the NVR was "system" and the default password was empty. No user with no password doesn't work.

Posted December 13, 2011. open the DVR casing & find small tyni button on DVR Mother Board. press it, DVR will be reset. Close Casing and start the DVR and wh en DVR ask admin/password click cancel. now goto menu and set new password/id. reply me when u finished,
I need to reset the Admin password, a little research has told me it changes daily based on the units internal clock. Further research tells me that removing the battery returns the date to 01-01-2000, tried it & this works. Posted June 26, 2011. Make sure your passwords are case-correct. Also, you sometimes have to use a different login and password for web use on some DVR's. Try making another username and password on your local DVR and try logging in with that. If that doesnt work, try doing a factory default reset and starting over.
