This comment is NOT accusing you of anything. I just purchased a used car and an extended warranty through Assurant. Got home and, after reading some pretty terrible reviews, am thinking about returning the warranty. Does anyone has any experience with used car warranties through Assurant? I ended up agreeing to the Ford Premium Maintenance Plan for 6/60,000 and that was $1260. I also ended up with a third party (Assurant) premium plan extended warranty for 72/85,000 for $1794 with a $100 deductible.
I canceled my car's extended warranty 4 days after we purchased. I just want to share since I was doing some hard digging before I made this decision and it might be helpful to anyone in the same boat. I know there's a lot of debate around whether the extended warranty is worth it. We paid $3300 for a 10 year/100k one for a 2019 (28k mileage ...
I've heard good things about their warranty, hopefully it's as good as people say. But so far I've never needed to use the extended warranty but I've always bought it for peace of mind. I've got a '19 Legacy. I drive a ton so rack up miles quickly (22-25k a year). Ended up getting the 5yr 100k /$100ded plan for $1070 so thought it was worth it.
A few words can be the difference between it being worth thousands or literally worthless. Do you have to get the car serviced exclusively at any particular location? Does changing your own oil void the warranty? Details are crucial. The dealer I bought the car from used tacked the 3rd party warranty onto all their used sales.
Covered the power steering pump and AC compressor without much effort on my part. I dropped the car off, drove off in a loaner and the SA would call in about an hour telling me the repairs were warranty approved and when the car would be ready for pick up. They took care of everything, completely hassle free.
Edit: Thanks for the replies, I've decided it's not going to be worth it. The Nissan direct warranty is £420 for just one year, I've had a look over common issues with the model and the vast majority can be repaired under that. Of course could have engine problems but that's the gamble - given our very low yearly milage and the cars current ...
I got it for $1500. So yes, negotiate the warranty. ///M cars the warranty costs substantially more. My '99 E46 323i was traded in at 99K miles for a brand new 370Z. I spent more on maintenance and repairs in the last 12-16 months of ownership than the car was worth. By a factor of about 3X. Lesson learned.
Two of the options, I am remotely interested in was - 10 year warranty (not HondaCare and it’s via Assurant) for 2741$ and Tire & Wheel 3-1 bundle for 863$ (covers paint less dent repair, fob, tire/wheel for 6 years) Not sure if they will negotiate any further, since there was no persuasion, when I said I am not looking into it.
You can go to your closest dealer and they will cancel your old warranty and write you a new one but you probably have to pay cash. Your refund will take 45-60 to process. 3. Award. AutoModerator. MOD • 5 yr. ago. Please review the FAQ to see if your question has already been answered.
