Viewers who tuned in to the NBC network at 10 pm that Sunday evening were met with one of the most iconic television themes of all-time, Jan Hammer's "The Original Miami Vice Theme (Instrumental)" So pop a cassette in your Sony Walkman, put on your Ray Ban Wayfarers and let's discuss the music of Miami Vice.
2. Miami Vice - "Milk Run." I like a lot of the Miami Vice episodes, but this one is the best "Hands Down" 3. The New Outer Limits - "The Conversion" I can watch this episode over and over again. I NEVER tire of it. The interaction between the two main characters is priceless. 4. Airwolf - "The Pilot Episode."
Funny, I'm still curious to see what the review here will say. I've decided it may be the best argument ever, for streaming, over physical discs. I can see myself in the mood for an episode, maybe two, if I could scan the episodes, make my choice, then see a strong 1080p picture, with lossless DTS HD 5.1 audio.
Miami Vice geek here Crockett's first car was blown up in the 3rd season episode/premiere, "When Irish Eyes Are Crying." Sorry to see that car go, didn't like the Ferrari Testarossa. Sorry to see that car go, didn't like the Ferrari Testarossa.
Universal really didn't do anything to these Miami Vice episodes, they look for the most part pretty nice but some shows look faded and dark and not the way they looked when they came out, Smugglers Blues is way to dark and is right in the middle of a bunch of Fine Looking shows ,so this isn't the way the show looked ,yet cheap Universal didn't ...
I was delighted when that track popped up two years later on one of the best Miami Vice episodes. ("No Exit.") "I Ran" was one of those "new wave" singles that was "infiltrating" rock at the time. At the top of 1983 - feeling burned out (temporarily) from AOR and thanks to a new friend who was heavily into top 40 and new wave acts - I switched ...
Great idea to take Crockett and Tubbs out of Miami and into New York City as we have some fantastic 1980's footage of the Big Apple to look back on. I highly recommend this episode. thnkgreen , Jun 10, 2021
I really like Brothers In Arms, though I prefer some of the other tracks on it, like "So Far Away" and the title track, which in late '85 was featured in one of the best Miami Vice episodes (the one about the crazy ex-cop who hid that guy's body in the wall).
Maybe a little more clarification is needed: I know that theme songs (like "Green Acres" & "Love is All Around" from "The Mary Tyler Moore Show"), as well as original series music is usually identified on tv in the end credits.
WKRP in Cincinnati is the only pre-Miami Vice show that I recall that licensed a lot of music. Unfortunately, unlike Miami Vice, the music licensing issues faced by WKRP have really ruined it in syndication and home video. You watch Miami Vice on Starz or Blu Ray today you're going to hear what was played when the show aired.
