His character was the basis for Randy, but was named Patrick and wore a shirt. In between shooting the show, Roach and Dunsworth traveled across Canada performing at comedy clubs and other music events as a stand-up/improv act. After Dunsworth's death in 2017, Roach created his own stand-up comedy show called Randy's Cheeseburger Picnic. [3] [4]
Jim Lahey, better known as Mr. Lahey, is a fictional character in the television series Trailer Park Boys. Portrayed by John Dunsworth, he is the main antagonist of the series along with his on again/off again boyfriend Randy. He was created by series creator Mike Clattenburg. [1]
Although Mr. Lahey is initially apprehensive towards his new assistant, Ricky eventually succeeds in earning his trust. Meanwhile, Julian uses the last of his money to buy a shipment of vodka from a Russian smuggler and begins a bootlegging operation in the park. With Mr. Lahey on the trail, Ricky must decide where his loyalties lie.
Randy's relationship with Lahey mirrors their work hierarchy, with Lahey calling the shots, speaking in a commanding voice, and doing what he wants, while Randy obediently conforms, following orders with a warm "Yes, Mr. Lahey". At the same time, Lahey holds deep affection for Randy, and is usually seen as sad whenever Randy breaks up with him.
