Tickford Priory was a medieval monastic house in Newport Pagnell in Buckinghamshire, England. Tickford Priory was established in 1140 by Fulconius Paganel, [citation needed] the lord of the Manor of Newport Pagnell. The priory was a cell of the Cluniac Order, headquartered at Marmoutier Abbey in Tours, France.
A manor house on the site belonged to the Pagnell family of Newport Pagnell, but was donated by them to the church. Cardinal Wolsey gave the manor to Christ Church, Oxford, but it subsequently reverted to the Crown after Wolsey's fall and was acquired by a wool merchant, Anthony Cave, in 1545, who built a manor house in the form of a hollow square.
