I think the Extinguisher is a pretty good call with good range. The Black Rack isn't to bad, sounded a little hollow but I just didn't feel like carrying something that big in with me to rattle. I use the Knight and Hale Pack Rack now much easier to pack in and it sounds pretty good. 2015 Bear Arena 34 LH 70# 28".

It allows me to only use one call and grunt and bleat using the same call instead of a grunt call and then a can in the other hand. so far killed 2 bucks with it. 36127 posts · Joined 2009. #2 · Oct 11, 2024 (Edited) I feel it is plenty loud under the majority of typical circumstances. A deer grunt isn't typically all that loud. A doe warning snort as well as a bucks snort-wheeze are quite loud....intentionally. But think of the times in the woods when you actually hear a buck grunt.

Go to the pet store and buy one of these dog toy pigs that grunts. Inside is the best grunt tube I have ever used. I’ve turned more deer with this than any expensive grunt call I’ve ever bought. Granted I don’t use a grunt tube much, more or less a Hail Mary tactic in my book. But if you must this thing works.
anyone have any experience with these calls made by Illusion Systems? I just ordered one to try out. I figure even if it is mediocre, it will be worth the $29 to eliminate some of the other calls that I lug around in my pack.

I'm looking for a great deer call that: 1. Is so simple a cave man can use it. 2. Can make a variety of deer sounds like buck grunts, doe bleats, fawn bleats, etc. 3. Sounds authentic. Which ones do you like? Dislike? I'm looking at the Flextone Bone Collector, True-Talker 2, Extinguisher...
You might want to check out the Primos Buck Roar or Flextone All-N-One Deer Call. Both are known for their lifelike sounds. Also, if you're willing to splurge a bit, the Illusion Systems Extinguisher Deer Call is a high-end choice with adjustable sounds for precise realism.
