Marlin Camp 45 Carbine. Just picked up a Marlin Camp 45 Carbine today for $400. Been wanting one for a long time since I am a 1911 enthusiast and like the fact that they use 1911 mags of which I have a crap load. It is used but seems to be in good condition aside from some scratches on the barrel and a crack in the stock right behind the tang.
Marlin Camp .45. OK, this is the 1911 Addicts, but if you went with a carbine or good handling rifle in a PCC format. What say you about the Marlin Camp Carbine in .45 acp? Takes 1911 magazines, seems to fit the 1911 Addict world "if" you were to have a carbine. I would love to have the newer Ruger PCC in .45acp that took 1911 mags but I am now ...
I now own three Marlin .45 Camp Carbines; the most recent coming to me with a folding stock. Prices seemed to have leveled off on these guns and I don't see them selling for much over $500 nowadays. My most recent one was a steal at $345 OTD. I still like the gun and the caliber.
Marlin Camp Carbine I have a perfect Marlin Camp Carbine 45 auto w/ 12 mags I'm willing to part with. Awesome little gun. I also have a Winchester Model 70 chambered in .300 Weatherby magnum that has exactly 17 rounds through it. I bought the Weatherby while in my 20's when i had aspirations of hunting around the North American Continent.
So here's my question, which is the better gun? Ruger PC4 (and P series pistol) or Marlin Camp .45 (and a 1911 clone)? I know it is a little like comparing apples and oranges, but what are your thoughts? I've read that the Marlin has a few faults. The factory stock is a little on the flimsy side, especially if the weapon is rapidly fired.

Some other cartridges gain a lot of velocity and energy from longer barrels - .357 Magnum, .44 Magnum and .45 Colt come to mind, depending how they are loaded.
My 225gr hardcast flat-nose .45acp carbine load, at 1000fps, was actually designed with my .45 Colt .225gr lead load in mind, that I used in the single-action army. That load travels right at 950fps from a 71/2" barrel, and easily kills deer. The letters, "ACP", don't make that combination any less lethal.
Picture of the new stock with friends! Well there it is, with a few of its friends. A twin Camp-9 is below, and a Camp-9N sits above with a S&W Tactical 5906 in the corner. 2 12rd Marlin mags are below the adjustable section. 4 Fairly rare Marlin 20rd mags start at the left of the 5906 and go up. 3 S&W 15rd (1 in gun)are in the center. 2 Nickel ...
I have never seen the .45 ACP one in person but I saw a 9mm one at a local show about 10 years ago. I guess Marlin made a short run of them or somebody REALLY likes them and is hoarding them. I have a Ruger PC4 in .40 myself. I could not find a good .45 carbine comparable to the deal I got.

I have'nt chrono'd my .45acp loads - I don't own one, was at the range and a fella had one set-up, I had my 9mm Camp that day. Magman77.
