The Jane and Robert Cizik School of Nursing [1] at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston [2] (UTHealth Houston) is an American nursing education institution. The school has graduated more than 14,000 nurses since its establishment in 1972.

Humble (/ ˈ ʌ m b əl / UM-bəl) is a city located in the Houston metropolitan area. Humble became an oil boomtown in the early 20th century when oil was first discovered there in 1904. By 1905, the Humble oilfield was the largest producing oilfield in Texas. [5] Humble was home of the Humble Oil and Refining Company, a predecessor of Exxon. [5]
In 1960, the first nursing courses were offered on the Austin campus. In 1976, as part of a reorganization of University of Texas' system of nursing schools, the School of Nursing officially became a part of the University of Texas at Austin. In 1974, the School began offering a PhD in Nursing, the seventh school in the nation to do so. [6]

After receiving approval from the Texas Board of Nursing, the college began with 44 students in July 2008. [citation needed] The college of nursing is located in Bryan, Texas with clinical locations in Bryan-College Station, Round Rock, The Woodlands, and the Gulf Coast.
