Boscobel (/ ˈ b ɒ s k oʊ b ɛ l / BOSS-koh-bel) [3] is a city in Grant County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 3,286 at the 2020 census . Approximately 0.6 mi. (1 km) to the north of the city, across a riparian swamp , is the Wisconsin River .
Alvin Boone Straight (October 17, 1920 – November 9, 1996) was an American man who travelled 240 miles (390 km) on a riding lawn mower from Laurens, Iowa to Blue River, Wisconsin to visit his ailing brother in 1994. His journey inspired the 1999 film The Straight Story.
At the 2000 census there were 433 people, 190 households, and 124 families living in the town. The population density was 63.4 people per square mile (24.5/km 2).There were 199 housing units at an average density of 29.1 per square mile (11.2/km 2).
The Boscobel Grand Army of the Republic Hall is located in Boscobel, Wisconsin. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2007. Additionally, it is listed on the Wisconsin State Register of Historic Places.

In Boscobel, it then meets US 61 for the second time and then runs concurrently with it. It then turns east away from US 61. In Blue River, the route travels in an eastern direction. In Muscoda, it begins to run concurrently with WIS 80. Both briefly travel south before turning eastward again.
The Wisconsin Great Northern Railroad operates a historic train line centered in Trego, Wisconsin on 26 miles of track, between Spooner, Wisconsin and Springbrook, Wisconsin.
