Currently, there does not seem to be a way to copy those tables to a wiki and keep styling such as colors (background or text color). It is possible to convert PDF tables to Excel and keep the colors. Or to HTML tables and keep the colors. But there does not seem to be a way to copy any of those colored tables (PDF, Excel, HTML, etc.) to a wiki.
If you just want one table from a long Excel page, you can select that table from the Calc page. Then copy the table to a new page in Calc. Edit and move columns and rows in Calc. To drag a column first select it by clicking its header number. Then press and hold the ALT key. Then click a data cell, and drag the column to a new location.
Note that with row headers you need to use a separate row in the wikitext for the row header cell. Here below is what a table looks like if the data cell wikitext is on the same line as the row header wikitext. Note that the data cell text is bolded, and the data cell backgrounds are the same shade of gray as the column and row headers.
Solution: divide one of the tall cells so that the row gets one rowspan=1 cell (and don't mind the eventual loss of text-centering). Then kill the border between them. It is possible to create tables with cells that stretch over two or more columns or rows (also known as merged cells). For columns, one uses |colspan=n | content, whereas for rows, one uses |rowspan=m | content. In the table code, one must leave out the cells that are covered by such a span. The resulting column- and row-counting must fit.
