Pula (Latin: Nora [3]) is a comune (municipality) in the Metropolitan City of Cagliari in the Italian region of Sardinia, located about 25 kilometres (16 mi) southwest of Cagliari. Pula is a holiday resort, with numerous hotels and beaches. The ruins of the ancient city of Nora are among the most important archaeological sites of the island.

The Pula Arena (Croatian: Pulska Arena; Italian: Arena di Pola) is a Roman amphitheatre located in Pula, Croatia. It is the only remaining Roman amphitheatre to have four side towers entirely preserved. It was constructed between 27 BC and AD 68, [2] and is among the world's six largest surviving Roman arenas. [2]
Like the rest of the region Pula is known for its mild climate and tame sea with an average of sunny days of 2,316 hours per year or 6.3 hours a day, with an average air temperature of 13.7 °C (56.7 °F) [31] (6.1 °C (43.0 °F) in February to 26.4 °C (79.5 °F) in July and August) and sea temperature from 7 °C (45 °F) to 26 °C (79 °F).
On 9 December 2012, the legendary Palatino Express train will rise from the ashes and once again connect Paris and Rome. The public was looking forward to the reintroduction of this train, subject of much comment on social media, that will restore the link between Paris, Florence and Rome, with intermediate stops at Dijon and Bologna.
