A test light, test lamp, voltage tester, or mains tester is a piece of electronic test equipment used to determine the presence of electricity in a piece of equipment under test. The vanes rotate when exposed to light, with faster rotation for more intense light, providing a quantitative measurement of electromagnetic radiation intensity.

[1] This is a round metal prefocus base 14.5 mm in diameter with a flat and two dimples so the H1 can be installed in a lamp only in the one correct orientation.
