The 2023 Sudirman Cup (officially known as the TotalEnergies BWF Sudirman Cup Finals 2023 for sponsorship reasons) was the 18th edition of the Sudirman Cup, the biennial international badminton championship contested by the mixed national teams of the member associations of Badminton World Federation (BWF), since its inception in 1989.
The cup is named after Sudirman, a former Indonesian badminton player. [2] The current champion is China, which won its 13th title at the 2023 tournament in China. There is no prize money in Sudirman Cup; players play for their respective countries and to earn BWF World Ranking points and national prestige.
The 2023 Sudirman Cup group stage was held at the Suzhou Olympic Sports Centre in Suzhou, China, from 14 to 18 May 2023. The group stage was the first stage of the 2023 Sudirman Cup. During the group stage, only the 2 highest-placing teams in all 4 groups advanced to the knockout stage.
The 2023 Sudirman Cup knockout stage was held at the Suzhou Olympic Sports Centre in Suzhou, China, from 19 to 21 May 2023. The knockout stage was the second and final stage of the competition, following the group stage.
