The biggest change from the LEGO Mindstorms NXT and NXT 2.0 to the EV3 is the technological advances in the programmable brick. The main processor of the NXT was an ARM7 microcontroller, whereas the EV3 has a more powerful ARM9 CPU running Linux.
The Lego Mindstorms product line was the first project of "Home Education", a division of Lego Education established by employee Tormod Askildsen in 1995. Askildsen, who had previously spent ten years working for Lego Education, had grown frustrated working with teaching professionals and wanted to create an improved educational experience that was delivered directly towards children.
Python sets are very much like mathematical sets, and support operations like set intersection and union. Python also features a frozenset class for immutable sets, see Collection types. Dictionaries (class dict) are mutable mappings tying keys and corresponding values. Python has special syntax to create dictionaries ({key: value})
A functional spike is used to determine the interaction with a new feature or implementation. To track such work items, in a ticketing system, a new user story can be set up for each spike, for organization purposes. Following a spike, the results (a new design, a refined workflow, etc.) are shared and discussed with the team.
The above obscure-but-commonly-implemented Python version of the Sieve of Sundaram hides the true complexity of the algorithm due to the following reasons: The range for the outer i looping variable is much too large, resulting in redundant looping that cannot perform any composite number culling; the proper range is to the array indices that ...
Epydoc is a documentation generator that processes its own lightweight markup language Epytext for Python documentation strings. As opposed to freeform Python docstrings, reStructuredText (both also supported) and other markup languages for docstrings, Epytext supports linking between different pieces of documentation.
The SPIKE algorithm can also function as a preconditioner for iterative methods for solving linear systems. To solve a linear system Ax = b using a SPIKE-preconditioned iterative solver, one extracts center bands from A to form a banded preconditioner M and solves linear systems involving M in each iteration with the SPIKE algorithm.
In Python, the NZMATH [23] library has the strong pseudoprime and Lucas tests, but does not have a combined function. The SymPy [ 24 ] library does implement this. As of 6.2.0, GNU Multiple Precision Arithmetic Library 's mpz_probab_prime_p function uses a strong Lucas test and a Miller–Rabin test; previous versions did not make use of ...
