Etching by Jan Luyken illustrating the parable, from the Bowyer Bible.. The Parable of the Faithful Servant (or Parable of the Door Keeper) is a parable of Jesus found in Matthew 24:42-51, Mark 13:34-37, and Luke 12:35-48 about how it is important for the faithful to keep watch.
The Parable of the Unjust Steward or Parable of the Penitent Steward is a parable of Jesus which appears in Luke 16:1–13. In it, a steward who is about to be fired tries to "curry favor" with his master's debtors by remitting some of their debts. [ 1 ]
The Cambridge Bible for Schools and Colleges notes that this was "the very least the slave could have done, [as] to make money in this way required no personal exertion or intelligence", [16] and Johann Bengel commented that the labour of digging a hole and burying the talent was greater than the labour involved in going to the bankers.
"Faithful and discreet slave" is the term used by Jehovah's Witnesses to describe the group's Governing Body in its role of directing doctrines and teachings. Also prominent in Trump followers’ bios were Bible verses: Psalm 23:4, John 15:13, Matthew 19:26, Romans 1:16, Luke 1:37, and most popularly, Joshua 1:9 (“Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go”). Clinton followers, by comparison, were less biblically inclined.
