Gage County is a county in the U.S. state of Nebraska. As of the 2020 United States Census, the population was 21,704. [1] Its county seat is Beatrice. [2] The county was created in 1855 and organized in 1857. [3] [4] [5] It was formed from land taken from the Otoe in an 1854 treaty.

Highland Township is one of twenty-four townships in Gage County, Nebraska, United States. The population was 928 at the 2020 census . [ 1 ] A 2021 estimate placed the township's population at 928.
Before the southwest corner of Gage County was home to Odell, it was part of the 10-by-25-mile (16 by 40 km) Otoe Indian Reservation. [4] Odell was laid out in 1880 when the railroad was extended to that point. The community was named after LeGrand Odell, an original owner of the town site. [5]

Liberty Township is one of twenty-four townships in Gage County, Nebraska, United States. The population was 200 at the 2020 census. [1] A 2021 estimate placed the township's population at 200. [1] Most of the villages of Barneston and Liberty lie within the Township.
As of the census [3] of 2000, there were 182 people, 78 households, and 53 families living in the village. The population density was 1,744.4 inhabitants per square mile (673.5/km 2).
