The 32X was an add-on to the Sega Genesis video game console that was designed as a cheaper, more incremental hardware alternative to the Sega Saturn. However, the dwindling of the aging Genesis market and the more advanced Saturn dwarfing it led to low sales and a very brief lifespan - launched in late 1994, it was discontinued by early 1996.
