The National Botanic Gardens (Irish: Garraithe Náisiúnta na Lus) is a botanical garden in Glasnevin, 5 km north-west of Dublin city centre, Ireland. [1] The 19.5 hectares [ 2 ] are situated between Glasnevin Cemetery and the River Tolka where it forms part of the river's floodplain .

[2] Since 1986 the house has been used as exhibition space by the Royal Botanic Garden. [3] Exhibitions of botanical and contemporary art are held there.

In 1838 he returned to Dublin and was appointed director of the Royal Dublin Society's botanic garden at Glasnevin, County Dublin, [5] succeeding Ninian Niven. Moore remained in this post until his death. In this role, he travelled widely in the United Kingdom and Europe collecting rarer and unusual specimens for the Gardens.
