BMW will not offer the M3 in a Steptronic Automatic. It will be SMG III or a 6 Speed manual. BMW would never, ever offer the M3 in an Auto. Never. The E46 had no Automatic, to my knowledge or the article's apparent knowledge. In response to the above, I'm curious if SMG III even exists, and if it does, how long it would be used for.
