In 2003, Brandis teamed up with a group of returned Peace Corps volunteers from Wilmington, North Carolina, to form the Full Belly Project, dedicated to designing and distributing unique appropriate technologies in developing countries.
Jock Brandis is an author, film actor, film technician, inventor, and humanitarian. Brandis has received the 2006 Popular Mechanics Breakthrough Award for Innovation and the 2008 Purpose Prize, which he received in recognition for his work and experience.
Construction on phase one of the project, including the 265 apartment units and approximately 30,000 square feet of retail space, is expected to wrap up around late 2026.
