Terence “Terry” Sylvester (born 8 January 1947) [1] is an English musician and songwriter. He is a former member of the Escorts , the Swinging Blue Jeans (1966–1969), and the Hollies . In the latter role, he took on the high parts formerly sung by Graham Nash , who had left the band in December 1968.
Terry Sylvester was replaced by Frank Townsend from The Easybeats (1962–65) and the Beachwoods, who was later to become a member of Tony Rivers and the Castaways. The B-side of "Listen to Me" was "Do the Best You Can", the last original recording of a Clarke-Hicks-Nash song to appear on a Hollies record (although "Survival of the Fittest", written by Clarke-Hicks-Nash, was re-cut with Terry Sylvester and issued as a US single in 1970).
Terry Sylvester left the Swinging Blue Jeans to take Nash's place the following month. On 15 March 2010, Haydock along with Calvert and the other fellow Hollies members Allan Clarke, Graham Nash, Tony Hicks, Bobby Elliott, and Terry Sylvester were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
