The Tri-Service system was first enacted on 6 July 1962 by the DoD Directive 4505.6 "Designating, Redesignating, and Naming Military Aircraft" and was implemented via Air Force Regulation (AFR) 66-11, Army Regulation (AR) 700-26, Bureau of Weapons Instruction (BUWEPSINST) 13100.7 on 18 September 1962. D.C.A.S) was a 14 February 1942 [1] [2] [3] amendment to General Directive No.4 (S.46368 D.C.A.S), issued by the British Air Ministry on 5 February 1942, that instructed RAF Bomber Command that it had "Priority over all other commitments", [4] and directed RAF Bomber Command to bomb factories in occupied France.
