The team posted an entry for the Milwaukee 100 on May 31, but the car never took to the track. Unser's father (Al Jr.) drove during several seasons for Galles Racing , and Al Richard once worked for Rick Galles' Chevrolet dealership.
Galles Racing is a former auto racing team owned by Rick Galles that competed in the CART series, Can-Am and the Indy Racing League. The team won the 1990 CART championship as well as the 1992 Indianapolis 500 , both with driver Al Unser Jr.
Galles raced in the first ever season of the USF2000 in 1990. His best result was a third place at Willow Springs Raceway. [1] The young driver also raced in the Sports Car Club of America Formula Continental class. At the SCCA National Championship Runoffs Galles placed eighteenth. [2] For 1991 Galles stepped up to the Atlantic Championship.

On September 29, 2011, Unser was arrested in Albuquerque, New Mexico, on charges of reckless driving and aggravated driving while intoxicated. Charges stemmed from an incident where Unser reportedly drag raced his Chevrolet Suburban SUV at speeds over 100 mph (160 km/h). He was placed on indefinite suspension from his role with IndyCar.
